Experience of Application of Trimebutine in Patients with Diseases of Stomach and Duodenum

Abstract
|
|
|
For Evaluating the efficacy of trimebutine, we arbitrarily selected 44 case´s of gastric ulcer, gastritis, duodenal ulcer and duodenitis, confirmed by gastrofiberscopy.
In 27 cases among them, 100 mg of trimebutine were orally riven three times, daily, and placebo to the rest cases.
The results were obtained as follows.
In trimebutine group, several gastrointestinal symptoms including anorexia, indigestion, abdominal fullness, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea and nausea were improved in 70-80% of cases within 3 weeks after treatment, meanwhile, we observed improvement of symptoms in 30-50% of cases in placebo group.
No side effects were noted in trimebutine group.
